WooCommerce minimum order by delivery zone
How to ask for a bigger order before you drive further, and tell shoppers exactly how much is missing.
Why a minimum per zone
A $15 order next door is worth delivering; the same order 20 minutes away may cost you more in fuel and time than it earns. With ReachZone each delivery zone has its own minimum order, so you can keep the nearby minimum low and raise it for the far zones. Pair it with a delivery fee per zone if you prefer to charge more instead.
Set it up
- Open ReachZone in your WordPress admin and pick a zone (or add one: a radius, a drawn area, postcodes or a drive time).
- Enter the minimum order in your shop currency. Leave it empty for no minimum.
- Repeat for each zone. Zones are checked in priority order (lowest number first), so the address gets the rules of the first zone that contains it.
What the shopper sees
- In the cart and at checkout: “The minimum order for delivery to North ring is $40.00. Add $12.50 more to your cart to continue.”
- Below the minimum, checkout refuses the delivery order, in the classic and the Block checkout. Pickup orders are not affected.
You can reword the notice under “Checkout behaviour and messages” → “Minimum order notice”. {zone}, {min} and {missing} are filled in for you.
What counts towards the minimum
The cart’s product total after coupons, before tax, the delivery fee and shipping. A coupon can therefore take a cart below the minimum; the notice then shows the new shortfall.
Free plan or paid?
Minimum orders, fees and delivery times per zone are in the free plugin, with no account. The paid plans add street-address lookups and drive-time zones; see pricing.
