Setup guide

About ten minutes, with WooCommerce already running.

ReachZone is not listed on WordPress.org yet. Until it is, install it from the zip file you are given. Nothing is sent to us until you enter a licence key.

1. Install

  1. In WordPress, open Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin, choose the zip and activate it.
  2. WooCommerce must be active. You will find the settings under WooCommerce > ReachZone.

2. Add your shop

  1. Under Locations, name your shop and enter its address, then choose “Find on map”, or click the map to place the pin. Add as many locations as you need; there is no plan limit.
  2. Check the pin sits where deliveries start.

3. Add zones

  1. Choose “Add radius zone”, “Add postcode zone” or, with a paid plan, “Add drive-time zone”. You can also draw a shape on the map.
  2. For each zone set a label, a priority (1 is checked first), a delivery fee, a minimum order and the delivery time shoppers see, for example 30 min.
  3. Tick the shipping methods the zone allows. Leave all unticked to allow all.
  4. Save. See WooCommerce delivery radius for more.

4. Show the checker

Put the shortcode [reachzone_checker] on any page, or add the “ReachZone delivery checker” block in the block editor. Shoppers type an address and see your message.

5. Checkout

Nothing to switch on. The zone that serves the shipping address filters the shipping methods, adds its fee and enforces its minimum order. An address outside every zone cannot be ordered. This works with the classic checkout and the Block checkout. The Block cart and checkout show the delivery time next to the option, for example “Delivery (30 min)”.

Under “Checkout behaviour and messages” you can change the wording and decide what happens when an address cannot be checked: block the order (the default) or allow it.

6. Enter a licence key (paid plans)

  1. Paste the key from your confirmation page into Licence key and save.
  2. The plugin checks the key with our licence server and shows the plan. It checks again twice a day. If our server cannot be reached the plan keeps working for 7 days.
  3. To move the key to another website, clear the field and save on the old site first. Pro and Business work on one website; Agency on ten.

Behind a CDN or load balancer

The delivery checker limits each visitor to 30 checks per 10 minutes. If your site sits behind Cloudflare or another proxy, choose it under “Visitor IP behind a proxy” so visitors are told apart. Only choose a proxy that really is in front of your site.

Privacy

The plugin never stores a shopper's address. See the privacy notice (draft).
